Disco Death:
A Celebration of Life

Welcome to
"Disco Death: A Celebration of Life"

Let me take you back... to a time when I was just five years old, a tender age when most children are lost in play and imagination. But for me, it was different—I was already grappling with something much deeper. The profound love I had for my grandparents planted the seeds of curiosity about life’s greatest mystery... death. I realized then, with a weight that felt too heavy for such a small heart, that those I cherished most would one day leave me. This wasn’t just a fleeting thought... it opened a portal to "the world behind the world"—where visions danced on walls unseen and dreams spoke louder than the waking life.

Years later, in 2012, my grandfather passed away... and my grandmother followed in 2014. These weren’t just dates on a calendar—they were profound waypoints on my journey of understanding and acceptance. While others around me spoke of 'if,' I always thought in terms of 'when.' Each moment leading up to their passing wasn’t filled with fear but with a deepening curiosity about the inevitable—embracing the natural cycle of life and death.

Because I had been bracing for that day—preparing my heart for the farewell—I was ready when it came. I sat by my grandfather’s side for weeks, holding space, performing rituals... knowing each moment was sacred. But life had its own demands—I was living in Haiti at the time and had to leave. He passed while I was overseas. With my grandmother, it was different... I rushed back to Texas from a Mardi Gras parade, just in time to be with her as she took her last breath. I watched as the color left her, knowing immediately that I had to descend to the chapel and serve as what I now know as a psychopomp for her soul.

These experiences shaped me in ways I couldn’t have anticipated... and in 2017, I took a step further down this path. I began formal studies to become a death doula, driven by the desire to deepen my understanding and to support others through this universal transition. But—let’s be honest—after two decades in sex work, my soul needed a break. I took time to breathe... to gather the scattered pieces of my spirit, preparing to return with renewed energy and insights.

"People who learn to confront and accept death, often through repeated exposure, typically experience lower levels of anxiety overall and may live richer, more fulfilling lives." – Dr. Ross Menzies, Anxiety Disorders Specialist

I know... sharing these deeply personal moments is vulnerable. We may be strangers—but in a way, we’re not, because you too are navigating this human experience. Confronting death is something that binds us all... and there’s so much I want to share with you. My processes, my rituals, my practices—they didn’t just prepare me for their deaths... they allowed me to celebrate the honor of being loved by them.

And now I want to share this wisdom with you...

"Disco Death: A Celebration of Life" isn't your typical course—it's an experience -- a deeper, more intimate gathering where we confront the end in all its guises... and through that, unearth what it really means to live.

We've all felt loss—be it the heartache of losing someone dear, the ache of a relationship's end, or those quiet, heavy moments when we sense a part of ourselves fading into the shadows. Each loss, a little death... each one, a whisper asking us to delve deeper—to understand, to evolve, to extract meaning from the remnants.

I’ve always said that death is like an existential crisis for the soul—it challenges us to find the courage to question everything we’ve held true, to reassess our purpose, and to deepen our understanding of who we truly are.

Join me... let’s navigate these shadowy waters together, finding light in the darkness, turning endings into beginnings, transforming our sorrows into wisdom...

Course Overview

Imagine a space where death isn’t something to be feared or avoided… but something to be understood, even embraced. A space where loss isn’t just endured, but examined and transformed into something that deepens our experience of life.

Over the next nine weeks, we’ll explore death through the lenses of different cultures, psychology, and philosophy. But more than that, we’ll look at how every loss echoes the finality of death… and how, by confronting these endings, we can find our way to healing, to peace, to a life lived with a fuller heart.

This isn’t about selling you a course… it’s about inviting you to a conversation—one that’s honest, sometimes uncomfortable, but always real.

Because in facing death, we learn to cherish life.

  • Get instant access to the online course through my website, where new modules will be rolled out weekly. Each module will include readings and journals for you to use—though you’re welcome to use your own journaling method if you prefer.

  • Hands-On Rituals: Together, we’ll create a Dia de los Muertos altar—a ritual that doesn’t just honor the dead but allows us to hold space for our losses, connecting us with our grief in a way that’s sacred… and transformative.

  • Reflect and Connect: You’ll have the space to share your experiences, your reflections… your deepest questions. And you’ll do it alongside a community of fellow travelers who, like you, are eager to explore life’s most profound mysteries.

I’m Chriselda Pacheco, and I’m here to walk this path with you… not as a guru, but as someone who’s been in the trenches of life—someone who’s seen the darkness and found light within it.

My journey… it’s been anything but ordinary. Two decades in sex work, navigating profound personal losses, and now soon I plan on returning on the path to becoming a certified death doula. These experiences have taught me that death and loss… they’re not just endings. They’re beginnings. Beginnings of deeper understanding, of reclaiming primordial power, of finding the truth in life’s rawest moments.

The Lilith Academy doesn’t just acknowledge the shadows—it embraces them fully. In fact, confronting the shadows is the very reason The Lilith Academy exists. If we are to evolve as human beings, we must face the shadow material within ourselves and in our Western society. It’s through this exploration that we can begin to decolonize our minds, deconstruct the narratives we’ve been fed, and reclaim the primordial feminine power that’s been buried for far too long—finding our way back home to balance and true spiritual homeostasis.

This is more than a course—it’s a calling, a space where you can find your truth, your power, your place in this vast, beautiful, and sometimes terrifying world.

Like all my Salon courses, each one has its season... and this one follows the same rhythm. Since "Disco Death" is the newest addition to The Lilith Academy's Salons, I'm launching it a bit later this year, making this inaugural session shorter than usual. Expect this to change next year—"Disco Death" will begin mid-August, 2025 and extend a bit longer, diving deeper into our explorations.

And with this expansion, the investment will also adjust...
